42. Believe me we are very angry too
Watching people needlessly die or go to the hospital for something that could have been prevented. Angry we got the vaccine so we could go back to our lives and now its even worse because of those that refuse to listen to the truth.
My daughter a manager of large dealership with 300 employees is fighting a break out of covid now. She had gone for over a year with no cases with all those employees until the variant. They lifted the mask rule for 2 weeks and got 15 cases, back to masks and so many people home she has been working 12 hour days. She made sure as many got the vaccine as possible, her boss the owner wouldn't mandate it because he was afraid of lawsuits, he was hoping the state would. She has 15 girls in large office next to her and talked everyone of them into it. But she said 13 of the 15 cases were vaccinated but the two unvaccinated were the sickest. Only 1 in the office got it but a bunch of girls stayed home for awhile after and one quit. So she is working non stop, so yes we are angry very very angry! |

2. Wonder if this was just a wild Q rant or in reference to something specific?
I know the Shasta area is having hard economic times due to combination of the pandemic and the drought. The lake is so low that much of the tourist business it normally feeds is way down and that is decreasing incomes and causing higher unemployment.

The largest city, Redding has a huge retirement population and of economic dependency on that retired community and tourism. A few years ago it was where more heart surgeries took place than anywhere else in the nation.

Cal the state of Jefferson. The speaker is representative of his demographic, a left behind Citizen who did not want to or could not move to economic opportunity and while the official (conservative led) U.S. Government policy has been to focus on moving the U.S. population from rural areas to urban centers. Like how the entire middle and agriculture center of the U.S. has been decimated by corporate ag taking over what was once family farms, achieved by farm policy that was changed in the 70s to favor corporate and monopolized food production over family farms followed by the deliberately created farm bubble bust of the 80s where millions of family farms were bankrupted. This was achieved by inflating the value, aggressively selling loans, special loans that could be called in by the lenders with only a few days notice and were. |

Any significant civil unrest would require the complicity of the military and paramilitary organizations. I realize that there are a lot of right wing racists in the police forces, government agencies and military, but I know fir a fact that there are plenty who are not. As we saw on January 6, the U. S. military refused to participate in an attempted coup. The badly outnumbered Capitol police held strong.

47. And here's a San Diego police sergeant espousing the same thing.

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - The San Diego Police Department is investing an online post made by a member of the department. According to a letter the NAACP San Diego Branch sent to San Diego Mayor Todd Gloria, the post mentions 2nd Amendment rights and “alleges there would be support of hundreds of officers in resisting the lawful government of our city and state.” They said the post, made by a sergeant in the San Diego Police Department, states he and another person are building a coalition of cops who will stand up for their “God given freedoms.” https://www.10news.com/news/local-news/naacp-calls-for-an-investigation-into-a-sdpd-sergeants-online-post |

How is that going to feed his family? Who will feed his family when he's in prison? What a "moran".

50. Give me an example of someone who can't feed their family because of masks.
These folks just don't like masks (who does?), so they get angry due to frustration. Then they invent (or assume) justifications and support for their anger. Charlie Manson thought like this guy does. We're looking at a broken unit.
He needs to be asked where he got the idea there's a million people like him or that someone was starving because of masks. He'll find he has no answer and no example. It's just him having problems. He probably needs help and, as a vet, he deserves it. |

53. Moron! There are 329 Million who are not "just like you."
Guess what? Many of them are armed, as well. Stay off my street with your violent insurrection. That's my advice. I'm armed. I'm trained. You won't even see me.

65. Thank you for posting this. I posted a link to anewscafe
down thread. There is some great and even inspiring to DU material at Dori Chamberlain's site.
I had a home in Redding from 1989 to 2003 but actually lived there less than half that time as also lived/worked in Portland, Corvallis, and Humboldt during the same time period. I'm old and decrepit and live in my county of origin, Humboldt, now. Check out this 8/11/21 article about part of the medical community and masks etc. Loads of pictures at the link. Hundreds Attend Redding Protest Against State-Mandated Vaccines Posted on August 11, 2021 by Doni Chamberlain and Patricia Graves Monday afternoon hundreds of people converged upon the intersection outside Mercy Medical Center in Redding’s triple-digit heat to voice their disapproval of a recent state-mandated vaccine requirement for healthcare workers. The rally was attended by people of all ages, from senior citizens sitting in lawn chairs in the shade, to a father with an infant in a front pack. The multitudes represented a cross section of healthcare occupations, joined by their family, friends and supporters. The rally offered viewpoints on other topics, such as masks. One little boy held a sign while perched upon the shoulders of a man with a beard, sunglasses and a baseball cap. “I don’t co-parent with the government,” said the boy’s sign. “Unmask your kids.” The majority of protesters were women, many of whom wore scrubs. The vaccine order that went into effect Thursday instigated protests throughout California, similar to Redding’s. California Gov. Gavin Newsome tweeted the news on Aug. 5, including the deadline, that healthcare workers have until Sept. 30 to comply. much more at: https://anewscafe.com/2021/08/11/redding/hundreds-attend-redding-protest-against-state-mandated-vaccines/ |

62. If one wants to know what is going on in Shasta county and environs, here
is a link to great detail.
Some of the articles are pretty amazing and detailed, and most at DU will be even inspired by the woman who operates anewscafe.com, and her fellow journalists and those in comments that pushback against Zapata, the Bethel Church, and corrupt law enforcement among other threats. I have not yet read this thread but scanned the posts to see if this link was posted yet. https://anewscafe.com/ Lots of detail and images and videos, probably the best documentation of current strife in a community to be found. |

Yet, he'll want the other 999,999 to make the first move. Reminds me of a guy wanting his friend to throw the first punch at someone, but throws him under the bus when criminal charges are made.

69. Zapata has already been involved in two assaults.
The first covered up by LE and was how this story got to LA Times.
Each a woman that works for him, Elizabeth Bailey, initiated the physical contact and her boyfriend did the actual assault. I once was acquainted professionally with Nadine Bailey, Elizabeth's mother in Trinity county who came to political prominence as a timber industry spokesperson during the Spotted Owl days. Nadine is ultra-rightwing and her existence had not crossed my mind in 25 years or so. |
