excluded as a Peace Negotiator, looks almost like Trump and Pompeo gave Afghistan to the Taliban.

I still agree with the withdrawal.

Afghanistan was corrupt, then the U.S. added $$$$$ more corruption, then there was the separate corruption in the U.S. to keep the war going and paying the private military contractors for their gear and men.
Corruption from start to finish and from all sides.

Trump is to blame for most of this, he carries the lion’s share of blame for all of this.

the private military contractors in use there from the beginning, and that anti-government mentality, all to allow a private investor take over of Afghanistan's resources.

by Republicans to negotiate with the Taliban, when Taliban leaders were invited to Texas to be dined (but not wined, of course) in preparation for a gas and oil pipeline through Afghanistan.

Those negotiations did not end well for the US.

get out of Afghanistan, hand the keys over to the Taliban in exchange for some dirt on Joe and Hunter..an announcement would have been enough...Trump and his R's would have taken it from there...I think I'm joking but then this is Trump...

I was too lazy to look this up earlier. Yes this happened in February 2020.

Back in happier times when nobody was worrying about Covid. Back when Chump and Pompeo thought they would still be in office in August 2021. It never occurred them that they wouldn't be able to rewrite history, and clean-up a few "whoopsies" along the way. They thought they had their 2nd term in the bag!

The bigger question is how US intelligence screwed this up this much. The President was firmly convinced 5 weeks ago that the Taliban was not in position to control the whole country, yet they took over in 9 days.

Trump has been out of office since Jan 20th. So for 8 months someone has been briefing Biden with garbage intel.

There needs to be Congressional investigations.

This isn’t our country. It was a civil war that ended more quickly than we thought. About 16 days sooner than we thought. Why is this a huge deal? We didn’t lose any personnel.
