The UN Security Council is to meet in a couple of hours.

I heard earlier on one of the cable networks.

What can they do?

It does seem like an urgent matter, especially to the neighbors of Afghanistan.

Will they try to send in a UN Peace Force?

This could turn into a real catastrophe in the next few weeks. Food, fuel, and electricity shortages, random violence, and unknowns.

Interesting to see what the UN will decide to do?

Those seem to be major issues right now.

The Taliban are in control of the entire country and organized resistance has ceased.

So there is no real issue of international peace and security at stake.

Replacing one corrupt government with a different corrupt government won't affect most peoples lives. Only the small percentage that were involved with the US military, aid programs, or NGOs will be at risk.

They are tribes. They do not understand the concept of a democracy or a federal government.

They are not 21st century.
