(7,289 posts)1. This is the Mujahadeen, not the Taliban which is a Sunni Frankenstien created by the Saudi's and Pakistan.
2. Further point one, there is a woman in this and is making a point...and everyone is listening to her.
But overall, yeah, we should have let the Soviets do their shit. Then again, I think those in Moscow were already planning for the eventual, well, eventuality. Think they will get a non-aggressive buffer state like they wanted.

(2,660 posts)The Taliban executed their leader just before Sept 11. They were loosely organized. Since then they lived on their reputations and became old and irrelevant.
