"Abbott has told people he received a third booster dose of the vaccine, two sources told NBC News. Abbotts office did not respond to a request for comment about a potential booster shot. Except for people with compromised immune systems, booster shots have not been authorized by the Food and Drug Administration, though the Biden administration is expected to announce a program to administer them soon."

(1,495 posts)supposed to protect! So he's vaccinated x 3, gets a Covid test every day, and received an immediate Regeneron antibody cocktail!

Keep Dem's above that.

Just another one of those "me first, screw you" people, and that attitude knows no political boundaries.

Booster vaccines are not yet FDA approved, but expected to be, for all people who were vaccinated with good responses that're wearing off and will need to be boosted before long. Pfizer's booster vaccine, and no doubt others, will also be tweaked to be more effective against Delta.
Unless this depraved schmuck got one of the booster vaccines in development, he got a third shot of an old one.

(41,248 posts)"inadequate reaction"
You mean, didn't get sick and/or have any reaction aside from a sore arm?
Hortensis
(58,785 posts)discernable reaction to either shot. Most people are able to describe some subjective reaction, but whether lack of any is something to be concerned about I can't say. Many have Covid itself and never know.
My immunologist had already warned me that efficacy could be significantly lower than normal, though, because of the immunosuppressive medications I'm on. However, I've never been tested to find out.
I'll go get a third shot, could have today and forgot, and eventually I'll of course get a booster as well.

Abbott has told people he received a third booster dose of a vaccine, two sources said. Abbott's office did not respond to a request for comment about a booster shot. Except for people with compromised immune systems, booster shots have not been authorized by the Food and Drug Administration, although the Biden administration is expected to announce a program to administer them soon.
In addition, it was not proper for Greg to get monoclonal antibodies when he had no symptoms.
