Especially the latter which we liberated and is wealthy. Oh, we should take in some too. I already know a couple of Afghan refugees.

(58,785 posts)can try to shuffle off our responsibility on others, or deny it altogether, motivated by their usual antagonisms. But we really cant.
Were talking about a small number of people, anyway, educated and productive, whom we could absorb very easily without even noticing.
So Its a non-issue to me. Muslim nations have taken in many refugees and people in other trouble, but what we could really use from them, if they were able, would be their influence, added to our pressure, on the Taliban to enable us to get these people out to safety.
