A point I'm not hearing made enough about the evacuation from Afghanistan

Fact: Trump had more time in office to plan the evacuation than Biden did. Why wasn't a lot of the groundwork for such a massive pull out done during Trump's time in office? He was, after all, the one who set a date and made the deal with the Taliban. What did he do after he set that date and made the deal?

Consider the timeline:

-Trump made his deal with the Taliban in February of 2020

-Trump's deal set a date in May of 2021 for America to leave.

-That means there would have been 15 months to plan the evacuation if that date had been kept

-Trump's presidency lasted until the end of January 2021

-That means Trump was president during a whole year of the preparation time

-What was the Trump administration doing to effect a smooth transition out of Afghanistan?

-Why wasn't the Trump administration making plans to help the translators and others get the visas they would need?

-What plans were being made to accept refugees into the United States and other countries under Trump?

-Getting out of a 20 year war takes more time than 7 months. Just sayin.

-Biden had 7 months, Trump had a year.

That would have left Biden with only 3 months!

Trump should have been planning for the pullout long before Biden was even president.

6. Psychopaths don't solve problems. They create them. Chaos was the desired outcome.

It's a twisted way of thinking that is difficult to wrap ones head around, but think of it like this, to love is to hurt. The more pain the better. Doing good and being proactive is anathema to the psychopath.

Nothing designed to improve a situation will ever be the plan pursued by a psychopath. They are entertained by and thrive on pain, destruction and sabatouge. It's a feature and not a bug.

That's why I'm glad we don't have Trump anymore.

But certainly there would have been people around Trump saying "we have only 15 months based on the deal you made, Sir." Ever notice how Trump always says "sir" when he talks about other people addressing him?

Wouldn't someone in that administration see the need for preparation? They only had 15 freakin' months.

is it isn't over. I believe the Taliban thinks it's in their political interest to allow a large block of their population to leave.

People are jumping the gun on the evacuation. I'm hearing that planes with thousands are being allowed to leave.

With the current food and cash shortages, it is possible that the Taliban will use this opportunity to get rid of 'excess' people - let the U.S. have them

11. Trump purposely set up a time bomb. He had no reason to care what happened when it went off.

He set it up so he could take credit for ending the war before the election. Win or lose, he didn't care about the consequences, so long as they came after election day.

If he had won, he wouldn't care who was getting killed now, or what it cost others or the US, because he had gotten what he wanted -- being re-elected. And if he lost, there is a big steaming turd waiting for Biden to have to deal with.

So that he could have planned it.

instead everyone got blind sided.

That's Trump's fault.
