(50,237 posts)most of the perpetrators of the insurrection. Take the guy yesterday who was going to plead to a piddling charge, but at the last minute the citizens produced a video of him attacking a cop so things came to a screeching halt.

(5,122 posts)If it were not for these citizen sleuths, I wonder if the FBI would have more than a dozen in custody.
You can't sweep it under the rug with everyone watching.

(9,958 posts)How can you do your job if youre aligned with one political party? And was anything ever done about the manipulation of email files by the NY FBI before the 2016 election to make it appear that they had found new emails on Weiners computera computer they had for months.
It isnt unreasonable to suspect that the virus of extremism and conservatism is a part of the FBI.

(30,613 posts)We need massive DoJ and FBI reform. This is a dangerous situation, being made worse every day that Trump and his cronies aren't arrested.

(46,684 posts)It was probably the job I should have taken right out of college, but I took the road of least resistance and grabbed the job that would pay the rent and help me sustain myself in a city away from home. Four years later I hit a crossroads. Either get the job that most interested me, or go for the Masters, and then get the job that most interested me. I did neither. Love swept me off my feet and for many reasons, I was sidelined and opted to stay home with the kids.
Now here's the thing: Decades later I realize that I dodged a bullet by not getting into any form of law enforcement as it was being practiced at the time, or as it is still being practiced today. I realize that their perspective is antiquated and their priorities are so limited as to reach the same do-nothing conclusions. Or worse, more interested in self-survival than in following the truth that would serve us all.

(43,064 posts)If you prosecute TFG, you must find a unanimous jury. In a divided country, that's a real roll of the dice.
Also, even if you convict, you curry sympathy among his support in a divided country. That's not healing, that's not unity.
If you slow cook TFG, you make him politically unpalatable, even to a third of his base.
This is like air frying. Same result, half the calories.

My first guess was the Mueller investigation, but that was allowed to poop out too.

(2,845 posts)A coup is not a legitimate political manuever under our constitution. If the federal government will not punish blatant crime and disloyalty because it was perpetrated by elected officials of one party, our system is doomed to fail.
