Damn she can sing!
That said - this looks like a superspreader

(29,106 posts)I felt so bad for her because she has an incredible voice. As someone who enjoys Opera I felt embarrassed for her and the fact that she knew she was struggling. She went on early, most folks don't know much about that song, and fans will be kind as she is so beloved... Hopefully this will slip into the memory banks and the ridicule will be minimal.

(35,176 posts)Not her forte. She has guts to get out and do it but to scream out a beautiful aria like Nessun dorma was probably not a great choice. I do not hate her voice nor do I particularly like it but this was not great but boy does she have guts and it takes guts to sing something like Nessun dorma. Her wheelhouse is elsewhere.

Hopefully Ms. Hudson didn't strain her voice cause she sung that song with force.

(114,264 posts)When Aretha stepped in for the hoarse Pavarotti decades ago, she'd trained for years. Hudson can certainly sing Aretha's repertoire, but opera, generally speaking isn't one of them.
Now, Aretha hit the notes: (still makes me cry)

We should all do that more.
