Allen West said his wife was stopped for failing to use a turn signal to change lanes but had “no issues” with field sobriety or breathalyzer tests. He said she refused a blood test, but an officer got a warrant for it.


Driving while intoxicated is not limited to just drinking.

who is now running for governor, is arrested for DUI. I'm thinking the cops in Texas would not arrest an ex GOP lawmaker's wife without cause. Time will tell. My money still says she was under the influence of something.

12. It's pretty easy to prove that you are NOT under the influence.

A sobriety test, unlike a lie detector test, is allowed to be used in a court of law. Why would a cop, even a racist one, arrest someone who could prove her innocence with a simple sobriety test? Doesn't add up to me.

They can still arrest. In many states refusing the tests is treated like an admission of guilt and it’s an automatic license suspension too.

But they’re probably not that smart. If the blood test is clean I imagine all charges will be dropped because there’s no evidence for the prosecution, just a clean test for the defense attorney to point to.

it's why she was arrested. The only reason for arrest is usually because they're behaving like an asshole, or they're not popular with the local P.D. I am a nobody, but being the sister of a cop saw me through years of addictions without a single ticket, and many rides home when too drunk to drive.
