Why Aren't MLB games Covid super spreader events?

I'm just wondering. Every team is back to full capacity. I imagine MLB is drawing decent crowds. People close together for several hours. Games happening all over the country many days of the week. No one is even checking vax status. But I haven't heard of any outbreaks. Anyone have any thoughts?

You are incorrect in saying no one is checking for vaccination status. Here is there website with their protocols: https://www.mlb.com/giants/fans/safety

Their are also plenty of empty seats at every game. generally I would say they are selling 60-70% of their seats. Remember this is the team with the best record in MLB, and they have a history of years of every game sold out in the past. Yet they can't sell them all now. That tells me people are still wary about it. I know I am. Masks are required in all indoor spaces, etc. Read the link above for details.

I stand corrected. But they are taking other measures, such as facemasks in indoor spaces.

Outdoor transmission is slim to nil. That's why you don't see much from outdoor concerts either.

If they're inside that's something else. Though the Foo Fighters have been having indoor concerts and have had no outbreaks associated with their shows, but then again they're requiring proof of vaccines before entry. o

The day trying to defend holding the NYC concert. It didn't occur to me that we have a lot of real life evidence that outdoor events are safe.

Watching the Packers game last night, no one masked and what made me cringe were all the under-12 kids unmasked. Outside or not that seems foolish on the part of the parents.
