Nikki Haley: Biden administration 'completely surrendered to the Taliban'

Former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley on Sunday blasted the Biden administration for its execution in withdrawing troops from Afghanistan, saying it "completely surrendered to the Taliban."

On CBS's "Face the Nation," guest host Major Garrett asked Haley if she agreed with the Biden administration's assertion that it is not negotiating with the Taliban as it continues to evacuate American citizens and allies.

"They're not negotiating with the Taliban. They've completely surrendered to the Taliban. They surrendered Bagram Air Force Base, which was a major NATO hub. They surrendered $85 billion worth of equipment and weapons that we should have gotten out of there. They have surrendered the American people and actually withdrew our troops before they withdrew the American people. And they've abandoned our Afghan allies who kept people like my husband safe," Haley said.

However, Haley also acknowledged that the Biden administration must now do "whatever it takes to get our Americans out."

Or did I miss something? The Hill's headline, "Trump's deal with the Taliban set the stage for the Afghan collapse," pretty much says what lots of other news sources are saying. Biden pushed back the date of T****'s deal, which would have withdrawn all American troops by May 2021.

While Biden bears the brunt of how the evacuation is occurring, he didn't "surrender," as TFG and his RW sycophants are claiming. He knew for months that the translators and others who had helped the U.S. needed to be evacuated before the Taliban took over, but there was no sense of urgency to get it done. Even Rachel Maddow has been ringing the alarm bell for the past several months.

There will be time for analysis and finger-pointing after the last Afghan leaves. Right now the focus has to be on getting everyone out ASAP.
