Quit Calling the Afghanistan Evacuation a "Debacle"

Put the emphasis for a debacle where it belongs, on the Republicans, Bush and Trump. Biden is demonstrating more competence and expertise, and is acting more like we expect from a President of the United States than anyone who was involved with this has acted. And if you believe otherwise, you're listening to the wrong source of information.

bush/cheney/rumsfeld...shock and awe..shove our brand of democracy down Afghans' throats, take their oil, and get the hell out...simple, clean, no casualties...except maybe on the Afghan side but so what, right?!...going in, staying in...easy...getting out was never going to be anything but a major clusterfuck...twenty years..lots of military, support staff, contractors, engineers, mechanics, pilots, doctors/nurses and on and on...we're out...thank you Joe...

that the withdrawal has been a "disaster" you're buying into the media and RW framing of the issue. And if we assume the Taliban are rational actors, they would (likely) attempt any major attacks against US forces out of fear of immediate and certain reprisals.

I know, he is a comedian and not a politician. Not that he cares, but we will probably stop watching him.

Really amazed at how so many have turned on previous media darlings.

They made the true comment that the total evacuated in last 24 hours was phenomenal, then had to rub in "but not every single seat on some flights was filled." They still weren't good enough because a few seats on some flights were empty.

They obviously know nothing about flight logistics. A friend had a relative involved in the Berlin Airlift, the answer the Russian blockade of West Berlin trying to starve them out. He told stories about how important it was to keep the planes moving. You don't stop for the small things. In that case it was supplies coming into Berlin. But you didn't want to miss your slot.

In this case less than perfect to the media means a "debacle." Needless to say, I'm not watching much cable news lately. Might have it on in the background or on another floor. Every half hour there is at least one segment of Biden not being perfect. I'm tired of it.
