Got my third Pfizer dose yesterday. Who else here has received one?

5. Got mine last week. Arm hurt the next day and I felt weak for half the day.

All better 24 hours after the shot.

I have lupus and other things and am taking hydroxychloriquine with some methotrexate sprinkled in for shits and giggle.

and that's the only side-effect I have. I'm on cyclosporine and prednisone for my immunosuppressants.

7. My husband got his Pfizer booster last Monday. He's HIV+. It took him several days to feel

100% after the booster. Which is longer than after the 2nd shot. How are you doing?

10. To my understanding you should get your third dose eight months after your second dose.

For me that would be December. Also to my understanding third doses right now are only for immunocompromised people. If that information is wrong please tell me because I don't want to mess around with this, I want to be responsible.

My clinic gives the option of getting the third shot if you are immunocompromised due to solid organ transplant, going through cancer treatment, or have an autoimmune disease.

13. I just checked the CVS website....

They aren't doing any screening. The first page was basic exposure questions. The second asked if I needed to schedule a first shot, or if I wanted a second or additional dose for people with conditions (no link to them, no questions on whether I had one). It then asked me the date of my last dose and what type I had.

And then, on the next page, I had a banner that said I was cleared for my next shot. I could have continued on to pick a date and time to schedule it.

They weren't even pretending to care. If you feel you need one, you can get one.

42. That's exactly how I got mine today. Made an appt. last week to get one at a local CVS.

I feel like that although not immunocompromised with my age, current health and past serious medial issues that I ought to get one now and not wait until October.

rather than active treatment, so I'll have to wait until November 27, 8 months after my second dose.

I'll just be waiting. There isn't a lot of data yet - but theoretically the timing for dose 3 wasn't pulled out of someone's hat, but was chosen because it was the optimum time for it.

The thoery sounds a lot like spaced repetition - which works on the principle that the mind starts slowly forgetting, then does a rapid brain dump - so the optimum time for boosting the memory by studying the subject again is just before the rapid brain dump. Some of the info I've read about boosting immunity sounds similar.

The extra shot now for people with immune compromise isn't supposed to be a memory boost as much as part of the initial build up of immunity; the boosters are supposed to be more like spaced repetition - catch it at just the right time in the curve to prevent rapid trail off.

Since I didn't have chemo, my immune system should have built up a sufficient level of immunity.

The big risk for me is that my cancer metastasizes to the lungs (I'm on a 3-month surveillance). If that happens - and I get COVID also attacking the lungs - I'll be in a world of hurt.

I'm waiting for the 3rd round for boosting my first two shots, when I can.

I prefer to wait until all like you have received your 3rd shots first, before I consider stepping in line, those that need it far more than I are welcome 100% to step forward first, of me and others like me, and then when all is said and done, and all of these immuno-suppressed/etc. folks have received their 3rd shots, I'll finally step in line.

cancer patient on maintenance chemo, and even though I had a good response to the 1st two, my oncologist advised me to get the 3rd.

Am wondering if this means a booster 8 months from last week, though lots can change in 8 months.

as part of a study I’m in for LLS which is about blood cancer patients response to the vaccine. The 2nd I jumped the gun and got on my own (through oncologist). LLS then wanted me to get a 2nd as well so I sent them my results. It showed only very modest decline in immune response from vaccine after 3 months.

not tell your doc you’ll self-pay? I didn’t have to but would have for the information. All you need is a doctor’s requisition. Ohhh, maybe you’re saying it’s a higher-up policy of the medical group and not an insurance issue? Still, if they don’t have to pay, I make my argument for the requisition to go directly to Labcorp.
