It didn't have to happen, as it was heavily over-loaded and never should have taken off. Before she had died, she was on the verge of becoming a superstar of epic proportions, and there is zero doubt in my mind that she would have achieved it had she lived. Think of all of the great songs that we didn't get to hear, all of the movies that we didn't get to see, and all of the concerts that we didn't get to attend.
I'll never forget seeing Romeo Must Die in the movies, and the great time I had that day. RIP Aaliyah, the world morns today, and forever misses you. 💔

(2,021 posts)I barely knew who she was. But I do remember her in the movie "Queen of the Damned" and I wonder what kind of career she might have had as an actress.

Thanks,
I'm old and stayed to my rock and blues channels, but I do remember the story, then seeing a few vids and thinking of what could have been..

(383 posts)She was really good in Queen of the Damned. It was a sequel to Vampire Chronicles from Anne Rice.

(578 posts)died. I still remember being in the TV lounge and a bunch of black guys and black girls running in there and asking me if they can change the channel. I said at the time go ahead. When it was announced that she was dead on TV I still remember the screaming and crying from those guys guys and girls. As a young 18 year old I was kind of shell shocked by the reaction. Unfortunately I would endure an even worse reaction a few weeks later when 9/11 happened.

(1,666 posts)That kind of music talent and excellent acting talent all mixed into one young person is an anomaly. She would have been a vary large selection of movies in a wide range of roles.

(7,565 posts)I didn't listen to her music. However, I'm a fan of Anne Rice and so the Vampire Chronicle books and the movie Queen of the Damned sit in my collection.
