No matter how well intentioned, mangled information is still disinformation and does not provide clarity.

Invermectin is used to treat human conditions (pinworms and skin conditions), but only by prescription. It is safe when used as prescribed, but not for Covid-19. There is no reliable data that it works as an anti-viral.

People have gotten around the prescription restriction by using animal de-worming products that have invermectin in them and that are readily available at feed stores. Those formulations are NOT safe for humans and can be quite toxic.

It might be viable with the pill (human dosage) but going to the local agri store and taking the horse dosage (900 -2000 lb) for a 180lb person is way over kill.

Apparently he's been on podcasts and rightwing radio in Wisconsin talking about his beloved horse dewormer. Redman reports that first of all, Johnson is mad that the FDA fully authorized the Pfizer vaccine. And he's doubling down, even after the FDA reminded everybody that they are not horses and cows and should therefore not eat horse and cow dewormer.

Johnson, rather than taking the FDA's warning as a sign that experts don't believe Ivermectin is an effective treatment for COVID, told [Washington Times opinion editor Cheryl] Chumley he was being persecuted by the FDA.

"They're doing far more than dismissing me, they're attacking me," he said on her podcast, Bold and Blunt. "I don't care what drug will work. Try a bunch of them."

Johnson has been spreading anti-science bullshit about COVID-19 since the beginning, so none of this is surprising. Much of his bullshit has been specifically anti-vax bullshit, because of how he's so stupid. He even got suspended from YouTube for it.
