The military has said for many years that the Afghan Army could stand on its on. It collapsed in two weeks.

And once again we have servicemen and women dying, trying to help people. Saving them from the people who will line them up in the soccer stadium again.

I was listening to a discussion with Jason Kander (Afghan war vet; former D Secretary of State in Missouri). His view is that the military and the Government had to continually talk up the Afghan Government to keep the collapse from happening years ago, with the hope that the Government would eventually stabilize..

It could also be that the Afghan War was won in the first year by Special Operations and the CIA.

And the DOD conventional units decided to get in on it because it’s a new combat zone. Then use the same tactics of the road bound Russians, who were defeated.

Ask him about the tactical decisions to put only road bound units. And FOB’s and COP’s in such locations that only airborne or air assault units could deal with it,
