It has long been known that Republicans don't have any empathy for the suffering and death of anyone - until it hits home, until catastrophe disrupts their own lives, until the unthinkable happens to them.

We are about to witness a full-fledged rending of garments and gnashing of teeth on full display by Republican voters who will be burying their own children in the months to come - children dead of Covid because their parents refused to send them to school wearing the masks that would have prevented them from contracting a deadly disease in the name of free-dumb.

While I mourn the deaths of innocent children, I will not grieve with the parents who sent them to their death. I will not cry alongside Johnny's dad, who ranted at a school board hearing about forcing his child to be traumatized by having his face covered in order to appease whack-job scientists - I will not hold the hand of Sandy's mother, who insists that her daughter wearing a face-mask was a lib-tard plot to undermine parental rights.

Your children are dying - and if THAT doesn't move you, you are forever lost to an ideology that demands the sacrifice of your own offspring in order to prove allegiance to a madman.

1. I feel like Delta is closing in on everyone here. Yet they still joke about not wearing masks

like they're little children staying up late past their bedtime. Many have survived the first round, but one has been silenced. Now the survivors are laughing at the second round too.

5. My company is mandating vaccines, and the deadline's fast approaching

to get the first jab. Coworker I haven't seen in a while came to me last night pissing and moaning because he has to get vaxxed and it's sooo inconvenient and he wasn't going to get it but now he has to and wah wah wah blah blah blah blip blap blop.

He asked when I was getting mine and I told him I got both jabs the minute they were available to me, and that my two masks go on before I walk out the door and STAY on until after I'm home--except when I eat lunch, and I'm thinking of giving that up because I don't want to go through all this shit only to catch a variant from some asshole who didn't want to get vaccinated. And that this shit will never be over until everyone who CAN get vaxxed DOES get vaxxed and wears their goddamn masks properly.

The look in his eyes as he pulled his mask up over his nose was priceless. I think he expected to get a high-five for being such a brave widdle freedumb fighter; instead I might just have guaranteed that I won't see him again for another long time. Which is fine by me. Stay the fuck away, shit-eating plague rat.

My daughter moved her son to a school that mandates masks, in Pa. She had the option to do so because we have a Democratic governor. Many state's governors have forbidden mandatory mask wearing. Many school boards don't have the guts to mandate masks.

Then there is the group of white coat wearing doctors, you know the doctor who claims the vaccine is made with alien DNA or with demon sperm or something crazy like that. This group of doctors has been behind promoting hydroxichloroquine, and is now behind the horse and cow dewormer.

Then there are the GQP politicians whose plan is to kill as many people as they can just to make president Biden look bad, all the while they are fully vaccinated.
