We had Hurricane Ike.
It was bad.
My old house was over built in 1930.
Didn't even shake but the sound of the wind.
I hate the coming of fall now.

(2,962 posts)With Ike we just had put in new windows.
So we covered them with two layers of tin.
No plywood left.
Worked well but the sound of the blowing thru the tin was loud.
The waiting and the sounds are the worst.

I truly feel sorry for the people in this monster storm

We had a house full of people.
One was pregnant, very pregnant.
My house mate was ready to deliver the baby.
The baby was kind enough to wait.
