Hes going to get crucified no matter what. But he laid out and made his case superbly, if anyone cared to listen. Which I seriously doubt.
Time to move on. If the media or whoever still wants to pick at this, theyre nothing more than jackals. Theyve said they want a real president. Well, now they have one.
There was no good way out of this quagmire. Staying there another 20 or 30 or 40 years would not have changed a damn thing.
MSNBC has already taken some swipes.

(16,939 posts)It's over - it's done - the Commander-in-Chief and PRESIDENT had made the correct move.
Nay-sayers - go off into your corners and pout, fight, argue, throw stones, whatever - we move on......

(998 posts)It was just driving me crazy. Messing up my sleep, stress eating. Nasty, nasty, nasty. So even though I love listening to radio and/or audio of cable, I turned them off. Even less of DU cause you all know it can get a bit intense around here. The silence is wonderful. Instead my world is filled with morning bird song, evening insect and frog singing, hints of athletic contests and marching band at the high school, kids playing outside. Good stuff. Catch up with news via newspaper. I did want to hear the President give his speech but I had a volunteer shift to cover at the zoo. It was quiet there, too. (Rain) 😄
