If Republicans were in charge of California, NY, VA, and Colorado

I am making this post about redistricting. So the states I listed in the title have some type of independent commission that determines congressional districts and are all controlled by Democrats. This is in contrast to states like Texas, Florida, Georgia and North Carolina where there are no commissions and Republicans gets to draw the lines.

If the Republicans controlled the states I mentioned in the title they would be looking at a way to ignore the commission and draw their own districts and Democrats should do the same. I feel like the Democrats have unilaterally disarmed and are going to pay the price for it. I am all for ending gerrymandering, but you can’t end if the other side won’t.

But that’s not happening, and Democrats shouldn’t unilaterally disarm without that law in place
