How many of you are still ready and willing to negotiate with the Republican party?

Engage in your Stockholm Syndrome here. Consider it a "safe space" for thinking it's all gonna be okay. Also cite Susan Collins "liberally", if we are still allowed to use that word.

Honestly, though, what the hell are we going to do to get voting rights legislation through? I am leagues beyond frustration and anger.

republicans don't know it yet but they cut their own throats with this Texas abortion ban/bounty on women.

We Democrats can run nationwide on how SCOTUS just let it happen. We have to make it a big part of the campaign. Women nationwide do not want their choice taken away from them.

Also we have to get the two infrastructure bills passed and get projects with good jobs going all over the country. If we accomplish these things we'll keep the House and Senate.

If we don't, it's Fascism R Us for the country. And it'll happen fast, quietly and almost unnoticed, like how the abortion banned was slipped in last night with SCOTUS sneakily sitting on their hands without uttering a peep.

the continuing piecemeal unraveling of the "United" States, is hard to sit with. Certain states seem hell-bent on provoking civil war and destroying the federal government and all it's agencies. Let them.

Ok how about you just surmise these posts that you claim are people here negotiating with terrorists. Because in my opinion that statement deserves an alert more than anything else you have claimed.

Seriously that accusation warrants some evidence. Otherwise you are slamming the community without providing anything to back it up.

Will they even listen to debate over valid compromise ?
Or shine the light away create obstructions + fake out in the end ?

Unfortunately those are common hard negotiation tactics like those used by their party which can
use fake commitment to their voters as tactics
Personal insults and code words...
Plain old bluffing , puffing, and lying in Congress

Imo they are seeking concession not negotiation. And it looks as if by any means

Democrats have to negotiate with Republicans to pass anything through regular order in the Senate.

Many Democratic governors have to negotiate with Republican controlled legislatures.

Democrats may have to negotiate with a Republican House in 23.

What does it mean to not negotiate?

If they do not want to compromise, we need to use our edge of power to roll over them; just like they have done with us. We elect Democrats to advance a progressive cause, if they do, they are successful, if they don't, they fail.

The only things Republicans understand is power. We need to show them we also know how to wield it.
