The Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act (PLCAA) is a United States law that protects firearms manufacturers and dealers from many lawsuits.
Would a similar act, written to shield abortion providers, abbetors, et. al., from lawsuits, be an appropriate remedy to the new Texas abortion law?

(15,909 posts)...or for not getting gun safety training. It makes just as much sense as the Texas law. Even a bit more sense, because I certainly have more at risk because of gun nuts than any anti-choicer has at risk because someone else gets and abortion.
I really would love to see some Democrats have the balls to actually pass a law like this, just to force the courts to address this absolutely insane concept of "standing" the Texas law creates.
