Texas’ sweeping new abortion ban is novel in its enforcement ...

But the law is also part of a more recent shift within the anti-abortion movement, in which restrictions on the procedure don’t exempt pregnancies that result from abuse.

“No exception for rape or incest,” Rep. Celia Israel, an Austin Democrat, tweeted Wednesday ...

The shift in strategy is at odds with the majority of Republican Texans who say abortion should be allowed either in some or most cases, including 47 percent who favor exceptions for rape, incest and danger to the mother ...

3. Honestly, I appreciate the consistency. It makes it clear just how oppressive their stance is. On

the other hand, I've seen a lot of Democrats get hung up on "worthy" and "unworthy" abortions -- we can give up abortion "on demand" as long as people who are pregnant as a result of rape or incest can still get abortions.

4. They really can't allow those exceptions

If they really do believe that an abortion is the murder of an innocent baby, then that's true even if the pregnancy is the result of rape or incest. It's not the baby's fault, right?

If they do allow those exceptions, then they would have to admit that the intention of the law is to punish "bad" women.

What about had too much to drink?

Condom failed?

You're a teen, or older, and some seamen got into you by mistake?

You have a medical condition where you sleepwalk and things happened while you weren't conscious?

Or realized the potential Father isn't who's child you wish to raise?

Worried your body can't handle it safely?

You can't afford it and it would prevent you from caring the best for the child you already have?

Prenatal screening reveals the 'child' has no chance at a normal and healthy life?

The list is endless.

Seriously if you don't like abortion than don't have one, otherwise mind your own business.

That at least recognizes medical reality, but these bastards are all about barbarically punishing women and girls for being female.

[about about the conditions surrounding their pregnancy. They shouldn't need exemptions or flavors. They should havd stewardship over their bodies.

No more humiliation from that, and no more back-alley abortions that might kill you.

My point though, was despite abortion being illegal in the bad old days, the people who wrote the laws retained enough humanity to allow exemptions for rape, incest, and the life and health of the mother.
