Anti-mask protesters show up at Florida school board member's home and cough in her face

According to a report from Florida Today, a Brevard County School Board member and her daughter were harassed in front of her home on Wednesday night by anti-mask protesters that ended with one protester coughing in her face at close range.

The report notes that Jennifer Jenkins has been under fire from local anti-vaxxers with calls for her to resign and some protesters calling her a "tyrant" for advocating pro-mask policies in schools.

Those attacks escalated on Wednesday when protesters showed up at her home.

Florida Today reports that Jenkins filed a report with Satellite Police Department after a protester coughed in her face. Jenkins also said a protester swung a flag at her.

An anti-mask protester came to her home, and coughed in her face?!

That is arguably a threat to her very life. Nay, not just a threat, but a potentially deadly assault!

Florida has the "Stand your ground" law... It seems to me that someone attacked thusly would be legally justified, under that law, of defending themselves however they thought necessary. They would certainly be morally justified.

Threatening someone with exposure to COVID is a threat to their life. It's not "freedumb"...

In this case, it was clearly an assault.

I am OVER these people.

A lot of this type of asshole are showing up in Montana in droves, seriously. They are congregating here because we had a red takeover of our purple government last year so they like the way things are declining in the state and moving here to gather and try to start a revolution from here. That's why I think I'm relocating next year. It's getting too dangerous to be around these assholes, and their presence and lack of understanding about fragile ecosystems is endangering the water source for 2/3 of the continental US. This ecosystem at the headwaters of the west is teetering and about to crash and they are accelerating that inevitable event.

And then there's the virus they are transporting and passing out like candy to kids along a parade route.

Some have isis-mobiles with big radios and looking like the gun turret is missing, building houses that look like militia strongholds up in the mountains and forests, it's getting ugly here in a hurry. And bands of them marauding about in the woods on ATVs, even their young kids drive them all over unsupervised.

I had the unpleasant experience of a fucking real estate broker, the broker mind you, cough into my open bedroom window because I was not informed about a showing of the property and wouldn't let them see my place unannounced, plus I had no idea who the asshole was. He pounded on my door upon arrival and yelled at me and called me a liar, said in a condescending voice, that he was going to call my landlord and prove I was lying about knowing they were coming. When he found out he was wrong, he went on a temper tantrum for over half an hour during which he coughed into my open bedroom window along with slamming all the doors surrounding my apartment.

If he hadn't been such a dick I might have let them see the place but instead, I filed assault charges against the fucker and I'm not backing down.

Fuck these assholes who think they can just attack people like this. I hope all those people under attach get themselves some bear spray and use it on these fascists. That shit sprays out to 30ft so it's not too hard to keep them at bay with a couple quick blasts. I keep a can by the door. Used to do that because of actual bears, now I keep it handy in case of fuckhead humans.

And until someone fights back, they will continue abusing people like that. Not only that, there might even be civil charges to follow. I plan to keep pushing that POS until all options are exhausted. If I can sue for monetary damages, I most certainly will.

PTSD and when you come to my door and pound on it, I'm triggered. That was his first move so I was willing to defend myself with whatever was handy, like the bear spray. If I hadn't been so triggered, I would have called the sheriff. But I did go and file when I calmed down enough to.

I'm also on SSDI and in my mid 60s so I can imagine filing elder abuse charges too. I have another appointment with an attorney next week.

I intend to do. Not only that, I might even contact a bunch of national news outlets and get them to do some expose' pieces about how dastardly evil the real estate corps is around here and how they are forcing people out of their homes like that.

My landlord and I are still friends, I'll be helping her move next week, she sold at a near loss due to these inept real estate fucks, she got ripped off. I'll be taking care of the cat for a few months while she's in her RV waiting for her new place to be built, it's half way there so far. It's a mess and her son pushed her to sell so I have a special disdain for him. But I digress.

I am not going to let anyone push me ever again, I've had it and this is how I will be protecting myself from now on.

These days, a right wing nut case coughing in your face at close range could easily be classified as "assault with intent to kill." If I had been in such a situation with a loaded handgun in my hand (and being Florida, I might have), I would have had no qualms of shooting my assailant dead right then and there, and pleading self-defense.

Like I said, it's good that I don't live there. It's almost impossible to get a firearm permit here, and my wife would never allow a firearm in the house even if I could (never even contemplated it).

We actually care about other humans.

We care about keeping each other safe.

We don't walk around grinning, guns loaded and safeties off, waiting for any excuse to feel threatened and "stand our ground".

(It's a bit like how you don't see any nutcase murdering the CEOs of crooked health care companies. That's just not something our side does a lot of. When you care about saving lives, you aren't eager to kill.)

Threatening people on their own property is a terrible idea no matter the state. People’s homes are their last line of defense. If she was clever, she would be prepared next time. It would be a freebie.
