"plan c" organizations.." If you have a cell phone, you have abortion access"

Long article about ways to.get around the Texas #%×$!!!

https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/other/texas-ban-may-spur-tele-abortions-virtual-visits-then-pills/ar-AAO61AH

Plan C informs its website’s visitors about telehealth abortions but also options with potentially shakier legal foundations, including an international telehealth service called Aid Access and online pharmacies that will send abortion pills to U.S. customers from abroad. The site includes a category of “creative options,” including setting up a mailbox in a state that allows remote abortions and giving that address to a medical provider. It also offers a legal helpline so patients can assess the risks of various options.

Other issues remain, Plan C co-founder Wells said, including out-of-pocket costs that even for telemedicine abortions can run into hundreds of dollars. And word of the new telemedicine abortion options must reach the poorest and most vulnerable patients.

Despite the jolt of the Texas ban, Wells noted that much has changed since the whisper networks that guided would-be patients in the U.S. before the Supreme Court’s Roe v. Wade decision in 1973.

“If you have a cellphone,” she said, “you have abortion access in your pocket.”

Trouble is, Texas is so large, it's a day's drive to another state from some parts in the south central area.

providers. As always the rich will have options, maybe inconvenient, but the poor will be at risk and suffer.

But they can’t work in Texas or states with similar laws: 19 ban telemedicine abortions, and Texas lawmakers have gone one step further and explicitly prohibited providers from mailing pills. The latter bill, passed by the legislature earlier this week, is on the desk of Governor Greg Abbott.

Texan patients seeking to avoid the new laws’ restrictions could cross state lines for clinic-based care -- or simply get to a state where remote abortions are allowed.

Plan C will not be available via teledoc in Texas, even if prescribing doctor is in another states.

Plan C is only available via teledoc in the US due to Covid. (It probably will continue now after this mess)

Laws are pretty strict about prescribing and there is a huge database that will tract anything any doctor prescribes anywhere in the country to any patient. A doctor in another state will be breaking the law if he prescribes Plan C via teledoc to someone who is located in Texas. If the doctor attempts to prescribe it, it will be flagged and he will get an electronic warning. Plan C cannot be mailed into Texas either. There are laws that states use to prevent delivery of products into states. It must be the interstate commerce act or something like that. Or mail fraud...It's pretty strict too.

For example citrus trees from out of state cannot be sent into Texas due to citrus greening disease.

No law is broken if someone goes out of state and receives the medication out of state. The medication must be prescribed to a pharmacy that is not within Texas. The medication cannot be mailed from an out of state pharmacy

Here is what happens if you try to order citrus in Texas:

8. The pills come from India. Pay bitcoin or e-check and it takes up 10-20 days

In other countries and other States, our European doctors can provide the prescriptions for abortions with the medicines mifepristone and misoprostol. You will be informed about a trustworthy pharmacy in India who will ship the medicines to you by mail. Delivery of the packages are mostly between 10 and 20 days but sometimes takes 4 weeks after shipment. The cost of this service is 90 Euro or 110 USD. https://aidaccess.org/en/i-need-an-abortion

Indian pharmacies do not accept credit cards. E-checks are a security issue. But they now accept bitcoins! (No experience myself) Additionally, India is not very discrete with some of their med shipments and sometimes they get tossed by US Customs.

Better just to go to another state....Bus fare is not very expensive and it doesn't take 10-20 days.

5. What is and is NOT an 'abortion pill'

Abortion and contraception opponents love to conflate the so-called "morning after pill" and the abortion pill. Do not let them do this. Do not help them by not making the distinction. These two pills are not the same.

Plan B is NOT an abortion pill. It is a contraceptive taken in order to prevent pregnancy from occurring. It does not require a prescription.

Plan B: https://www.verywellhealth.com/how-plan-b-works-906842

The FDA labeling for the Plan B emergency contraceptive says Plan B may work by preventing implantation of the fertilized egg. This has created controversy over its use. Research, however, shows that Plan B does not work this way. Instead, it works by preventing ovulation and fertilization of the egg.

RU486 is an abortion pill. It is taken to end a pregnancy after it has already occurred. It requires a prescription.

RU486: https://www.verywellhealth.com/how-to-use-ru486-the-abortion-pill-906958

Once you have signed a consent to have a medical abortion, you will be given three pills (200 mg each) of the abortion pill to be taken by mouth while you are at the doctor's office.2 The hormonal action of mifepristone works against progesterone, a pregnancy hormone, to make the fertilized egg unable to remain attached to the lining of the uterus. This step induces a medical abortion about 64 percent to 85 percent of the time.

There is no real way back to pre-Roe; that doesn't mean they won't try, only that in the long run they can't win. Yes there are still battles, but the arc of the future bends to choice.
