Should health insurance companies be encouraged to cancel policies for vaccine refusers?

I'm tired of the narrative from vaccine refusers..

"The vaccine is a personal, private choice."

This is NOT a private pandemic. It is a PUBLIC pandemic.

Thus, Covid vaccines are NOT a private, personal choice.

(Doctor ordered vaccine exemptions for health reasons are exempt, of course.)

I do not want unvaxxed people in my health plan and have reached out to my health insurer for feedback on their plans to deal with vaccine refusers.

I'm still waiting to hear from my health insurer. They are considering these drastic but necessary measures.

Call your health insurer.

Does it say it can't be cancelled for non compliance of preventative medicine?

6. Vaccine refusal has nothing to do with PE conditions..

unless there is a medical exemption ordered by a doctor.

15. The issue isn't pre-existing condiitions. Framing it that way invites

the kind of responses you received.

Insurance is guaranteed issue, cancellation is permitted for very few reasons (such as non-payment of premiums or materially false information on your application), and premium discrimination is permitted for only 5 reasons (smoking, age, geographic location, plan type, and family v. individual)

5. I m h o they should not be able to cancel someone for this

Since the bills would just pass on to the taxpayers. I do feel there should be a penalty, like the same one put on smokers. Their insurance premiums should be much higher since they are an at-risk group.

7. Cancel - No

But they should pay higher premiums and deductibles if they choose not to vaccinate.

I also feel that at some point unvaccinated should not be allowed to be taking critically needed ICU beds from those that are vaccinated and people who need critical care who donít have COVID.

At some point I would even say that those COVID and Science deniers should have their care separate at a different facility. May sound harsh - but they rejected science so why take the limited best care from those who do trust science?

9. hospitals should kick anyone un-vaccinated out of the facility

doctors, nurses, workers, and patients.

except for kids under 12.

Thus ending the "hospital bed availability crises".

Go ahead and prescribe Ivermectin, Hydroxychloroquine, and shove a UV light up their ass in the parking lot on their way out. A big injection Clorox as well.

Tired of playing games with the covidiots.

I have some sympathy for children between 12 and 18 who could not get a parent to get them the vaccine...

13. Agree totally. Give the COVIDIOTS a jug of Boone's Farm and some beef jerky

and move them out by the dumpsters.

MAGA fools are keeping righteous patients from treatment.

10. Change insurance coverage costs at open enrollment starting Jan 1.

That seems fair, though a bit late.

12. No. Really no. Shocking idea.

Business knows how to look after its profits and doesn't need "encouragement" from you. They're already looking at premium increases, but targeting them amap is about as far down that viciously harmful road we should hope they'd go.

Btw, for those who feel antivaxxers should be denied health insurance, just wait until our national healthcare becomes TAXPAYER PAID universal healthcare.

Don't want to pay to provide healthcare to anti-vaxxers? How about all those people with self-induced chronic problems, including millions of those type 2 diabetes, kidney disease, heart disease, lung disease, etc, etc, leading to decades of subsidized care?

Gotta be careful what we ask for. Think things through ahead of time. I'm proud of what we're doing and stand for, but every election some former Democrats join the Republicans to undo our bleeding heart liberal "mistakes."

14. When the insurance companies see which group is breaking them, they will self-regulate.

They did it with oxy and it's abusers. Thanks to them my MIL is about to have a total shoulder replacement and was told she would receive only FOUR pain pills.
