If we, the Democrats, can't get our s**t together, and get stuff done, we don't deserve to be in the

majority, There's too much important stuff to do, and an arcane rule in the US Senate is holding it up.
We need:
An infrastructure bill to repair and upgrade our roads, bridges, etc..
Voting rights,
Women's rights,
criminal justice reform.
All these items are overwhelming popular with voters. All these items are winning programs. We get them done, and we win in 2022, and have a fighting chance in 2024. We fail, we may never have another chance. But the filibuster rules make it impossible to get it done. If we fail on the filibuster, we will never have another chance. If we can't do it, we don't deserve to lead.

"Getting things done" means next to nothing at this point. We are in a post facts world.

Wont move anyone.

American democracy is one election from extinction, now every election the rest of our lives.

Those are the stakes.

influenced more by big money interests than their interest in helping average Americans who need relief from physical and human infrastructure not having been invested in for decades. The last investments in the average Joes and Janes having been done by LBJ's Great Society, Eisenhower's interstate highway system and FDR's New Deal.

Noting really of much consequence since then.

Plenty of tax cuts for the rich though.

I do think they should just submit bills and watch them crash and burn. Every effing day. If Manchin or Sinema bail out to the other side, it will be all over any way. Might as well go for broke.

Nothing to lose....put the legislation up to vote, then the voters can decide next year. I can tell you that, should Republicans take over the House, it will be Benghazi Redux. And Taxcuts! There will be Republican Infrastructure week, but we will never see anything resembling legislation from these jokers.

Blaming the party for what two senators do in a 50-50 Senate (how is that a majority) with an obstructionist Republican Party incapable of bipartisanship voting is phony.

if we hope to make the "moderate" Dems irrelevant. We need to win a supermajority if we hope to overcome recalcitrant Democrats. That's what it takes in today's Senate. We simply don't have the time to wait for 2022, and hope we win enough seats to lead. We need to get it done now!

have McConnell back in power. As for the Texas abortion law, not much we can do with 6 -3 SCOTUS majority for the other side. Elections have consequences and 2016 was a shit show. Thanks to the 'but her email' crowd, we face decades of bad consequences. How many times have I seen here some opine that the DNC gets no money and no support from them. The results in 2010, 2014 and 2016 were Democratic losses. And now some have the gall to announce Democrats don't deserve a majority. And I think if we were a bit more loyal, we would have better courts and have passed some really good policy. But once again ... nothing but threats towards our party. Truly such posts are sickening.

We can't codify abortion, pass a voting rights bill in reconciliation. And there are Senators who don't want to end the filibuster...so the idea that a Democrat Congress is somehow to blame for what Republicans have done is ridiculous. It was so-called 'message' voters who stabbed Obama in the back in 10 and 14. (leading to a filibustered house and one less SCOTUS appointee)...and Hillary in 16 (which lead to thousands of Americans dying of covid, massive tax cuts for the rich, and two more SCOTUS picks for the GOP ETC) which is why we are in this position.

And yet...what do we get? We get more threats of not voting or voting third party and we are told we don't deserve a majority. I and many other boots on the ground Democrats fucking deserve a majority. Many of us worked our asses off to get this majority. And it wasn't easy with filibusters and all the other shit we faced. And we need more Democrats too: not less. I suggest that some join the fight to elect more Democrats and save our Republic or get the fuck out of the way.

At 64%, Democrats were more likely than Republicans, at 43%, or independents, at 42%, to express concern about voter disenfranchisement, reflecting a concern within the party about voter suppression after several cycles.

Stop it.

Under no circumstance (at least not at the federal level) is there any situation where a Republican in a seat would be better than a Democrat in that same seat -- PERIOD.

Quit undermining our goddamn party YET AGAIN.

If you want Democrats to accomplish more, vote in more Democrats so that one or two can't hold up the rest of the party's agenda. Letting Republicans get elected over Democrats is NEVER THE ANSWER. Did you learn NOTHING from 2016?! Nothing from 2000?!

I get your point, to a point. We have to deliver. But I don;t remember any Congress in over 50 that was "controlled" by one party by such microscopic margins. Virtually any one grandstanding egocentric Democrat in Congress has the power to hold parts of Biden's agenda hostage and/or sink it.

I refuse to write off all Democrats based on the stance taken by whoever is least loyal among them to the Biden agenda. That plays write into Republican hands by disillusioning voters who previously voted Democratic, leading to more Republicans getting elected.

We have to work on dual tracks. 1) Keep putting pressure on hold out Democrats to fall in line and 2) Celebrating and promoting every win for the American public that Democrats do deliver (and there are many) all of which would have been impossible with Republican majorities.
