Any SCOTUS ruling addressing it is quite likely to also be a piece of crap. No serious deliberation will happen.

But I can grasp that creating a bounty system to take away someone's rights, just to avoid assigning that responsibility to a law enforcement official (which WOULD be breaking federal law), does not change the fact that a citizen's federally-protected rights are being taken away.
