Here is the problem.

A debate of contrasting ideas can only occur when both parties agree on the basic facts of reality. When one party is untethered from this fundamental, chaos ensues.

That’s where we are now.

I think they don’t care about masks or vaccines. We say yes, they say no.

They are that simple minded to me.

At that point, any conversation is over.

They’ll turn on everyone and everything they say they stand for when it suits them. They’re the zombie people. They’re heartless and mindless.

A grotesquely misplaced loyalty, to be sure, but that's what they stand for.

The Republican Party and the privileged subset of America it represents.

A society where men have privilege over woman, whites over blacks, etc.

That's what they stand for.

Beyond that, sure, they'll pretend to care about any "principle" when and only when it serves the interests of the Republican Party.

They certainly don't care about a balanced budget or thr security of America or even if Americans die preventable deaths.

They all parrot back the same lies and idiotic arguments

They don't care about logic, rational arguments or facts. Being able to ignore all of those and maintain their "Faith" is to them a show of their devotion and their strength.

Until we take that into account, there will be no getting through to them.
