Just got this email from my dentist's office!

Coronavirus Update - False Alarm!

As some of you may have heard, we closed our office this past week due to a potential Covid exposure. Thankfully, it all turned out to be a false alarm.

The spouses of two of our employees were exposed to a Covid positive individual. Fearing that they may have become infected and exposed our employees, out of an abundance of caution, we closed the office immediately and cancelled patients for Monday and Tuesday of this coming week. Fortunately, the spouses and employees were fully vaccinated and have since tested negative with the PCR test. As a result, we will be open as usual on Monday.

The lesson we can take away from this is that the vaccine works, and we are happy to report that all our employees and doctors are fully vaccinated. If you have not done so already, we hope that you will join us and maybe help end this horrible pandemic.

It's nice to know that they are relying on science, even if we are in the capital city of Florida!

People that are in there, so close to it, and 'refusing' to take the shot? There's no explaining.....

My son's un-vaccinated wife contracted COVID. She tested negative on the Rapid test and then positive two days later on the more in-depth test. Their baby also got COVID. My son had to miss two weeks of work caring for them. He then got breakthrough COVID and was sick for several days. He is fine now and will be allowed to go back to work this Wednesday. We will be babysitting our baby granddaughter this morning, and I have to admit that I am nervous about that. I am so angry about people who will not get vaccinated.

how to know if vaccinated people have been exposed to covid without getting infected. It said that vaccinated people who get exposed but not infected will have a reaction to the exposure similar to what their reaction was to the shot. That will go away within a few hours or a day. The reaction is their immune system producing antibodies, just as it did with the shots.

Only problem was no one bothered to do previous weeks' payroll for the past week in which everyone's hours were slashed and the week in which they closed for CoVid for which policy is absence w/pay - they claim it will be all combined onto the next weeks' - second time closure and staffing churn combined with a combination of personal chaos situations necessitating work absences, ostensibly, caused a revamp of the hours, so they CUT pay from those that showed up, and hire newbies that don't show at a 30% premium - Hope DH finds something "better;" the morans and labor stat fudgers are winning!

but why didn't the message include only taking clients with
proof of vaccination or positive CV-19 test within the last 3 days?

Probably nearly as long as DeSantis has been alive. The father started it and now his son is the main dentist. I know the other dentist in the practice (that has since retired and was my dentist) used to do pro bono work for homeless people, so they are very good people.

BUT they are not requiring that their patients be vaccinated. They do screen for symptoms any time you go in for any procedure and the personnel wear complete PPD. I've felt very safe when I've had to go in over the last year.

On a different note - AARP Florida just invited me to a teleconference call about Covid-19 and vaccinations. I'm listening to the introductions, may not stay for the whole thing. I hope this means they will be pushing the vaccinations and masking for all their members here in Florida!
