He and sil went to Lake Havasu for weekend. He started spitting up blood, she took him to emergency.
He has COPD. They did tests, he has pneumonia and maybe recurrence of lung cancer. Put him in ICU. Thank goodness he is somewhere that had a bed available!!

(3,378 posts)has COPD and was hospitalized for two weeks with pneumonia a year or so ago, I can tell you it ain't no walk in the park for sure and the recovery took me a long time. I'm in my eigthties so I am sure that factored into it.
I will certainly keep him in my thoughts.

(4,671 posts)rest his lungs and body long enough to fight off at least the pneumonia. Sometimes, couples give each other unwise gifts, even in times of pandemics, as they face off their chronic and/or previous illnesses for a chance to have happy memories. Have hope!

You're so right - "thank goodness he's somewhere that had a bed available!!" That was my first thought, too.
