I only know of the previous one in CA which elected the Terminator (who could have been much worse, as Republicans go).

I mean all Republicans I guess are like that, but Arnold actually believed in green policies, social programs, etc.

and now he has taken a stand against the fascists trying to rule his party. I give him credit for that.

As for whatever happened while he was governor of California, I claim no expertise--

except it probably could have been much worse, judging by current GQP proclivities...

so his Texas ENRON pals could make up for TX losses on CA electric bills.

He also met with the Cheney round table of oil company crooks when they partitioned Iraq on map about who would drill where for the oil. Arnold is pure right wing scum.

He vetoed gay rights legislation. And he led a right-wing anti-union agenda, even calling a special election to push that agenda: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/2005_California_special_election#Summary

Later I think he pulled back from some of that to suck up to people.

I recall being pretty pissed about him and then sort of chilling out about it after his defeat in that special election. I think he decided he wanted to be “loved” so avoided encountering strong opposition.
