GOP IN DISARRAY
GOP REELING IN HISTORIC DEFEAT
you know, the ones they always print when a Democrat loses in a close election.
I mean, its California so the outcome isn't surprising, but that never stopped the press when a Democrat loses a close race in a Republican-leaning area.

Radio silence until they come up with a new scam.
Oh, you mean the so-called Liberal Media? They, like antifa, don't exist.

(2,770 posts)The MSM cant even accurately report that the Republicans were routed. They have to say Newsom survived, as though it were close. Theres no way they can accurately frame it as Republicans in California battered and looking for a message going forward.

(288 posts)Analysis: Newsoms Anti-Trump Recall Strategy Offers G.O.P. a 2022 Warning
Gov. Gavin Newsom emphatically turned back the effort to recall him from office. A key factor in the results: the tribal politics of today.
California Democrats were able to nationalize the vote thanks to an avalanche of money, party discipline and, above all, an easily demonized opponent.
So, at least the Times got it right.

(9,350 posts)Seriously, it might be worse than you think. Have you seen Kasie Hunt's tweets about the California recall? She did not criticize the Republican Party for wasting people's time with another unnecessary recall election. No, she bashed Gavin Newsom and questioned the Democratic Party. Hunt tweeted that Newsom got caught be an elitist while everyone else suffered. She also tweeted that the Democratic Party now had to prove it could govern for everyone. She said some other things, but I cannot remember those tweets.
Once again, she offered no criticism of the Republican Party. She did not say, maybe this election should be a warning sign to Republicans. Maybe aligning themselves with Trump is a bad idea. She did not question why a guy like Larry Elder, with his view became the leading Republican candidate in the recall election. She did not say, with Elder's defeat, Republican Party leaders need to prove they can bring the party back from the extreme.
