Dear Justice Clarence Thomas: Stop gaslighting the American people. You just voted to allow an extreme Texas anti-abortion, anti-freedom law to go into effect even though it violates the law of the land, Roe v. Wade. And you did it by hiding behind your cowardly shadow docket.

(82,849 posts)Clarence is all worried now about the Court losing some of its unearned luster? How about a Justice who never recuses himself and routinely rules on matters directly affecting his wife? Oh, he's closely examined the situation and can assure the American people that he can be impartial. But oddly enough, Wife Ginni's business always is looked upon favorably by Justice Thomas.

(42,862 posts)... "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and to remove all doubt." (When it comes to how disengaged he is when cases come before the court, in any case.)

(20,591 posts)Honestly, if Scalia had ever tripped over his own shoe laces, Thomas would have died of a broken neck.
He always did whatever Scalia did, and when Scalia died he looked like a lost little puppy.

(22,590 posts)Replacing the late, great Thurgood Marshall with this subpar sexual harasser was a travesty. George H.W. Bush should have withdrawn his nomination as soon as it became clear what kind of a sleazebag he was.

(15,751 posts)This is thomas' spinning wiki version:
According to Thomas, the law firms also "asked pointed questions, unsubtly suggesting that they doubted I was as smart as my grades indicated."[23] In his 2007 memoir, Thomas wrote, "I peeled a fifteen-cent sticker off a package of cigars and stuck it on the frame of my law degree to remind myself of the mistake I'd made by going to Yale. I never did change my mind about its value."[24]

Actually, it seemed that the law recruiters smelled 'something'. Thomas, despite the Yale degree, went off to a Missouri [Sen. Danforth?, appointment]. A fast track went all the the through a Court of Appeals, and Scotus. The Yale law degree merely flashed as the rw powers of interest proprelled him forward.
[Disclosure. Clarence came to my law office before this judicial appointments, seeking government subsidies. Brief meeting. Admittedly I was warned as to his character. My impression, was a short, serious weight lifting individual, brimming to the core with a deep, deep, anger].
