originally it was intended that deaths from COVID BEFORE a vaccination was available would received funeral assistance from the Feds.
Why should purposely unvaxxed receive that benefit when the unvaxxed are causing many deaths and much illness by their actions. Knowing that no funeral assistance is available if death from COVID for the unvaxxed might even push some in families to encourage vaccination of their unvaxxed family member.

My answer is yes. It's not possible to screen dead unvaccinated people for purity of evil intent.

(28,979 posts)I applaud those here who would dig deep in their pockets, but I am not that saintly. I guess I need to work on developing empathy for those who hate me and call me racist epithets.
I will try, but mostly they seem like willful murderers to me. Let Osteen and Graham scrape the collection plate. Isn't that what they supposedly collect offerings to do? Christian outreach? Shouldn't they lead by example?
I suspect I am only half-kidding if at all. Can we only help the ones who repent?

(16,993 posts)An affordable starting cost. While some cremation providers list rates as high as $1,000, the starting cost for a simple direct cremation should never be more than $650.
Theres no reason for the federal government to cover the cost of a fancy funeral.

(1,450 posts)In some ways it was to help the devastation of losing wage earners unexpectedly from COVID before there was a vaccine. Some humanitarian payments to make up for the failure of the Trump administration to honestly portray the pandemic. i guess, since so many were influenced by the lies of the government under Trump about COVID, maybe the Biden admin. felt the government should pay?

The only exception is if the unvaxxed, because of an immunity issue is unable to get vaxxed.

(146,255 posts)The COVID-19 pandemic is classed as a disaster, which is why there is a benefit at all. FEMA has no vaccination records, nor is there any requirement that vaccination status be considered.
It's important to understand the reason that benefit exists, and it has nothing to do with the vaccines.

(9,886 posts)funeral assistance from the Feds. Why, if you die a certain way, do you get funeral assistance? If I'm driving along minding my own business and a drunk driver smashes into me, killing me, do I get assistance? I don't understand this COVID funeral assistance at all.
