17. Yes, we need to end this ludicrous debate over prosecuting a sitting (or former) President.

The Constitution is clear; no officer of the government is above the law. The President can be impeached AND prosecuted, and it's unforgiveable that the former failed, and the latter was not even attempted.

Still no sign that any prosecution is coming. Maybe in NY. At the Federal level, Trump's coup troops are being let out on the street to do it all over again. No indication at all that he's personally in any joepardy.

When Spiro Agnew was indicted for taking bribes, Nixon asked the Justice Department for an opinion about whether a sitting president can be indicted. Some middle-level lawyer, who was easily able to see what Nixon wanted, wrote an opinion saying that sitting presidents can neither be indicted nor prosecuted.

So that's all the policy is: a politically motivated statement from a DOJ lawyer. It has no actual force behind it.
