This way President Biden's "Build Back Better" agenda can't get derailed by the two "moderate" senators.
Not raising the debt limit is political suicide and will tank the economy and crash the stock market, so no way even the two "moderate" senators can vote against such a bill.

(5,947 posts)A stand alone debt ceiling bill is almost certainly fully drafted and ready to go at the 11th hour if needed.
They can flip the script, us the rest of the party willing to crash the economy for the sake of getting the economic bill passed? I'm not sure our party leadership has it in them.

this would force THEM to be the ones voting AGAINST a bill President Biden wants, if they so choose that is.
I think both will fold. That seems to be the consensus according to the tweet from the NBC News reporter.
