I have several acquaintances who dropped out of high school, got a GED or similar, and later went to grad school. It does not necessarily indicate lack of intelligence or education.

These posts could be proof of that claim.

I’m about the same age as Boebert (I’m only a few weeks older) and have a GED. I do have some community college but when I was in high school I was playing catch-up from switching schools so it was easier to just drop out and get a GED. I also got a 111 GT score when I enlisted in the Army.

It does surprise me Boebert is in Congress and I’m sitting at home and we both have GEDs.

I’m not sure if we should have minimum education standards to run for office. Maybe something to look into.

(any efforts to go down that road leads to unintended consequence)

What we really need is to move our electorate away from their penchant for electing bumble-f*cks because - "Tellin' it like it is," "Sharing a beer" or "Not one of them ivory tower elites." As long as the voter is looking for the lowest common denominator ... This is what we get. And - to be honest, this is representative democracy.

This is a serious job and there should be minimum qualifications as there are with most jobs. A four-year college degree should be the bare minimum requirement to run for higher office.

Spelling and grammar mistakes are part of their rebellion against what they term "intellectual elites"
