(16,829 posts)In the past I never had any problems. But in the past 12 months I've had a half dozen things disappear completely. Even with tracking information, they never find anything.

(102,468 posts)But, the impacts are felt regularly. DeJoy et al are determined to destroy USPS so that they and other vultures can swoop in to clean the bones. Unless DeJoy is removed SOON along with the cronies on the Board of Governors, they will succeed.
I have written and called my Congressional delegation so many times on this, that I feel like a stalker.
So much post-Trump's destructive four years makes me angry, but while he propelled the destruction, the RW has wanted nothing more than to dismantle it/privatize it for decades

(549 posts)However I don't see much of them anymore. Amazon pretty much delivers with their own fleet now

(43,642 posts)No other carrier from the US to the EU/UK has been remotely as bad for me as the USPS has. I absolutely refuse to deal with them anymore, whether for business or personal use. If a US firm has no other way to ship here to Sweden, they will not get my business. I have never been flat out lied to by an organisation as often as I have been by the USPS. They have not only fucked me over multiple times, but also friends and family in the US.
Your mileage may vary.

(16,829 posts)It's disappointing but not surprising.

(1,192 posts)It's has its ups and downs. Service is in the name, just feel that upper management has forgot that element.
I really wish we were back as a Department, not a quasi-government run operation.
Reason I say that...
We are federal employees....

(153,250 posts)I remember when I regularly sent packages to troops - I'd be there at a certain time on a certain day of the week and I would be the only one and could walk straight to the counter....so I'd think, I will come this same time and day next time........but when I did, the line would be long....I tried several experiments and realized it was all just hit and miss.

(24,346 posts)But I haven't seen any change in service in recent years.

(13,776 posts)Theres one employee now, only part time, who is absolutely busting her butt to take care of everything. She has to buy stamps out of her own pocket at other post offices so the people at her post office can buy some. Its awful all around and shes making herself ill from working so hard.

(24,346 posts)I guess I'm not in that small of a town. Population here is about 10,000. County-wide it's 60,000.

(3,334 posts)All our medications are from the VA and we track them and they all have shown up on time. The people who work in the post office are very friendly and helpful. When Florence hit and damaged the post office they had a truck 6 days a week in the parking lot. It was the kind of truck where the side opens up like a taco truck.

(8,299 posts)but USPS is significantly cheaper, which I like.

(6,697 posts)Bad in more than one state. For the sake of those workers, and America generally, I hope it can be fixed.

(3,017 posts)Weird shit inevitably happens when you're essentially in the middle of two small towns, and pretty much every mail handing service (Or, well, any service that wants your address for whatever reason) has your address listed for two separate zipcodes.
And things hardly get easier when you've got another house a half-mile west of you has a similar house number but you both use separate post offices.
It gets even more fun for the people who live twoish miles west of me, thats when we get a third towns zipcode involved. Because, apparently, this shitshow wasn't crowded enough already.
