My Grandfather dropped that one back in the 1970’s. I was never a fan of Prescott’s boy George H.W. As Grandpa called him and George W made me nauseous. My daughter started genealogy a few years ago and I told her to leave those skeletons alone. As terrible as this was to contemplate I despise Trump loving relatives far more than any Bush connections. W’s disdain of Donald is the only commonality I agree with but will Bush’s and never make up for the Bush flaws.

Or Plymouth Colony, Connecticut, Rhode Island and Providence Plantations prior to King Phillips war, avoiding being related to the Bush family is really hard.

For the most part we all are descended from people if we knew the story would not acknowledge. Jimmy Carter and Richard Nixon are distantly related which surprised them when they found out.

Forgot to say that I somehow also got GHW, W and Jeb.

Whose children went on to found a plantation in Virginia, (When they defiantly had slavery.)

I find it fascinating. I am sure a lot of families were mixed race back then before slavery was codified by race instead of contract.

... after learning that I was related to Bush Sr. and Dumbya.

I printed and copied thick "books" of my family's genealogy for my relatives as extra Christmas gifts in the early 2000's, and I briefly mentioned some of the most interesting ancestors described within.

No interest from them, at least most of them.

Then I mentioned, in an embarrassed manner, that we're also 9th or 10th cousins of the President (depending on the generation of my relatives). That's a very REMOTE relationship, obviously, but THAT is what got the most attention! With the Republican relatives saying that they couldn't wait to tell their coworkers and friends!

I later learned, after President Obama's ancestry was likewise researched by a team of professional genealogists, that my family is even more closely related to him. (But still very distant, and also meaningless.)
