The nuclear megayacht designed to save the world

If built, the new vessel, to be christened Earth 300 in reference to its length of 300 meters, or 984 feet, would dwarf even the world's largest superyacht -- the 590-foot long Azzam, owned by the Abu Dhabi royal family.

The preliminary design is sleek and bold, with a unique 13-story sphere that will house two dozen scientific laboratories. They will gather data from the ship's travels to hopefully come up with solutions to help mitigate the climate crisis.

Initially, the ship will use green synthetic fuels, but to satisfy the requirement of being completely emission-free, Olivera plans to eventually retrofit a molten-salt reactor, a modern type of nuclear reactor.

Well, you could build it with one kind of powerplant and then retrofit it with a molten-salt reactor later. That's one way.

If I had billions, I doubt I would get involved in space travel, but I could get into sea exploration. Ever since I read "20,000 Leagues" I've wanted my own submarine. That seems like it would be much more productive than floating around in space for a little while.
