Tennessee parents say some books make students 'feel discomfort' because they're White.

Robin Steenman pulled her daughter out of public school over a mask mandate last year.

She's now in private school and misses public school. But Steenman is keeping her out not because of masks, but because of lesson plans she says make students feel bad about their race.
"The school bus goes right in front of my house and my kid is dying to ride it," she told CNN. "But not until I have deemed that the curriculum is safe and will do no harm."
Steenman is counting on a new Tennessee law to force schools to end that curriculum -- and ban at least one book in the elementary school library written from the perspective of Mexican Americans.
The former fighter pilot leads a chapter of Moms For Liberty in this wealthy, Republican-leaning suburb of Nashville.
She says her group has ballooned in size since April, from less than 20 parents meeting at her house to more than 3,000 connecting on Facebook. The chapter has grabbed headlines for belligerent protests at school board meetings. They have attacked a high school LGBTQ pride float -- one tweet wondered if students passing out pride literature were doing "recruitment." And another meeting featured a tirade by a Moms For Liberty member against a children's book about the lives of seahorses, which she said was too sexual.

To the person who asked. Steenman was in the Air Force. Unfortunately the Air Force has had a notorious reputation in the last couple of decades for being a hotbed of Christian Dominionists and White Supremacists. She's proof that a University Education is wasted on some people.

Here is an article in which the fool claims that her 7 year old daughter developed OCD from CRT.

https://www.rawstory.com/fundraising-critical-race-theory-trauma/

I claim total bullshit. My children are very intelligent. We discuss things with them at 11 and 12 that are pretty mature, including topics of race. At 7 years old my children NEVER came home asking questions ANYTHING like what the fool claims her daughter was asking. That is completely made up. Conservatives love to make up scenarios where they set up this perfect foil, except, it is not believable in the least. If the kid has OCD, it is likely because she has at least a mom, but I am sure her dad also contributes to the anxiety in the home. Being perpetually outraged about non-existent problems will definitely get noticed by children and they will pick up on the emotional atmosphere in the household. Being an advocate in defense of White Supremacy with your kid going to a mixed school and having friends of color, will definitely cause anxiety. I am sure it is easier to blame it on Critical Race Theory, which is only taught in Law School and Graduate programs.

What do they do when they have to interact with people from a different ethnic, economic, or religious group? Do they build bubbles for themselves that they can hide in and not have to deal with "those people"? Did I just answer my own question?

Neither did my parents, even though I am very white.

Had I been an actor in my prime I might have played the Nazi super-soldier. Alas I washed out of Hollywood as a four year old.

Two of my siblings were actors in their youth. It's possible you've seen them on TV. My brother played the stereotypical biker guy or cowboy, my sister the bubbly blonde California beach girl, even though she's an Amazon Warrior in real life who plays hard with Olympians.

When I was a kid my mom was a Jehovah's Witness.

Ignoring the Flag Salute in school every day toughened me up.

I don't recall any discomfort when authentic U.S.A. history was taught.
