4. It's easy (for some people) to take a b/w view of abortion as long as it's all hypothetical.

But things can look a lot different when it affects you (or someone close to you) in an immediate and personal way.

There are way too many people who look at complex issues like abortion in shades of stark black and white and don't have enough imagination to even try to put themselves in someone else's shoes. The same people also can't fathom how anyone can POSSIBLY see an issue a different way than they do and conclude that there MUST be something wrong with anyone who (for example) thinks abortion should be legal or that women should be able to make their own decisions about their own bodies.

This is why we can't have nice things without people constantly trying to snatch them away.
