(10,943 posts)... I think the TV stations want us to watch them report on the missing blonde's boyfriend and Biden's failures, and not spend time on Facebook etc... they also are happy their TV ads are being watched by people who can't check their social media notifications during that time!

(4,475 posts)99% of network outages are caused by either a fat finger or a back hoe. And of those two it's usually a fat finger.
As an industry, we have really done a good job of protecting against equipment failures. Internet equipment breaks all the time. But it's all redundant now.
It's the the fat fingers that we can't seem to protect against.

(14,200 posts)I bet they have one for prioritizing positive, informative and life-affirming content that has yet to be used. Downside is it only creates $1B in revenue in the same time that the hate-mongering one creates $1.2B in revenue.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
