We have an eviction crisis, homelessness, soaring housing prices, and an affordable housing crunch, but I haven't seen her on television lately at all.
Where is she? Is she asleep, in a coma, golfing? Is she still the Secretary of HUD?

(32,801 posts)first thought was correct, but I needed to make sure. Marcus sent me down a quick alley. So I then verified who the hell Fudge is, and then it came back whence it came. Cabinet member at work.

(33,726 posts)Office being a tool of political punishment on those struggling financially . . . It's like they forgot that decent Americans who want to do their job effectively don't have time to twitter, go on a bunch of tv shows, radio shows, etc. etc.
Look at what she has oversight of:
https://www.hud.gov/directory/director
That's a lot of people to manage and ensure they are doing their job.
Maybe she's just not 'out there' because she's doing her job and making sure they do theirs?
I don't know - I'm just a simple import export girl - but it just seems like I've gotten so used to Fed Gov being filled with imbeciles who go for sound bites to impress their boss as opposed to doing the job they were hired to do. Fiddle dee.

We need her to DO something, not just show up somewhere for a photo op.

(67,782 posts)Fudge will visit affordable housing apartments serving Chicagos Black and Latino communities on the Far South Side and Pilsen.
By Lynn Sweet Oct 4, 2021, 6:00am CDT
Housing and Urban Development Secretary Marcia Fudge visits Chicago on Tuesday to promote President Joe Bidens human infrastructure agenda with stops highlighting HUD-assisted affordable housing apartments in the citys Black and Latino communities.
This is the first time Fudge, a former Ohio Democratic House member, stops in Chicago as a member of Bidens Cabinet. She is on the road, as are other Cabinet members, to build up public support for the Biden package, whose fate in unknown mainly because of two reluctant Democratic senators, Joe Manchin of West Virginia and Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona.
Fudge will highlight Biden proposals connected to affordable housing in the sweeping measure. According to HUD, Fudges Chicago swing will amplify the Biden-Harris Administrations Build Back Better agenda and its investments in housing construction and rehabilitation, economic development, and community revitalization.
Rumor is she may be wearing a policy statement on the back of her dress, but that hasn't been confirmed yet.

(18,486 posts)What is she DOING about these problems besides talking about them?
We can't SEE her doing anything so she needs to tell us exactly what she's doing or else we have every right to assume she's doing NOTHING.
