Sadly, it really could happen here. In my lifetime I have seen both progress and the destruction of progress on all fronts. Civil Rights. Women’s Rights. Voting Rights. Reproductive Rights. All are under assault.

We Democrats and liberals and progressives get distracted trying to articulate what “the other side’s” motivations might be for each individual issue — but it all boils down to control. If you can control and subjugate women, that’s 51% of the population right there. Then you can work on the rest.

10. Second-degree assault is a felony

He is now a convicted felon for the rest of his life. No guns for you, dickhead. I have no doubt he'll simply ignore that law as well and buy more guns after his journey through the penal system, but if he's caught that's a felony so he'd best be on his best behavior which for him I'm sure will be his own personal lifelong hell.

21. Wait - I'm pretty sure that it was reported this year

that a woman who had been released from prison thought she was eligible to vote and was arrested and sentenced to 5 years in prison. And her vote never even got counted.

The media here reported that when people are released from jail on probation, there is no policy for informing them about anything they still can’t do, including voting. Texas politicians love to play dirty, especially with black people.
