Are they going after TFG for conspiracy? Georgia D.A. is now working with the House 1/6/21 Committee

The Georgia district attorney running the inquiry is now also sharing information with the House committee investigating
the 6 January attack on the Capitol in Washington DC.

And the Georgia Sec. of State has Trump on tape asking for 11,780 votes, asking for the Sec. of State to just say
something like, "there is doubt about the election," and most damning they have Trump telling Georgia's Sec. of
State's lawyer, on tape, "that something big is going to be happening on January 6th."

Just saying.

Thanx to DUer Mama goes logging for posting the piece below 1st.

Criminal inquiry into Trump's Georgia election interference gathers steam
Donald Trump is facing increasing legal scrutiny in the crucial battleground state of Georgia over his attempt to sway the 2020 election there, and that heat is now overlapping with investigations in Congress looking at the former president’s efforts to subvert American democracy.

A criminal investigation into Trump’s 2 January call prodding Georgia’s secretary of state, Brad Raffensperger, to “just find” him 11,780 votes to block Joe Biden’s win in the state is making headway. The Georgia district attorney running the inquiry is now also sharing information with the House committee investigating the 6 January attack on the Capitol in Washington DC.

Meanwhile, a justice department task force investigating threats to election officials nationwide has launched inquiries in Georgia, where election officers and workers received death threats or warnings of violence, including some after Trump singled out one official publicly for not backing his baseless fraud claims.

Despite these investigations, Trump is still pushing bogus fraud claims in Georgia. Trump wrote to Raffensperger in September asking him to decertify the election results, which is impossible, and with an eye on the 2022 elections is trying to oust Raffensperger, as well as the state’s governor, Brian Kemp, and other top Republicans who defied his demands to block Biden’s win.

...I think it would be difficult to get a conviction on "something big is going to be happening on January 6th," because the prosecution would be unable to prove that TFG meant anything more sinister than "Congress will realize that the election was fraudulent, and refuse to certify the results."

TFG helped to pay for the riot/coup
TFG publicly invited the rioters to come and do damage. He gave out the day, the date, the time, and the place for the violence.
TFG's chief of staff, Mick Mulvaney's niece filled out the paperwork for the pre-riot pep rally
TFG installed a new person as head of the DoD after the election in Christopher Miller who gave stand down orders to
the DC National Guard.
The DC police, the Capitol Hill Police, and the US Dept. of Interior's police were all hamstrung in responding to
the threat and in engaging the rioters.
TFG when told by Mike Pence and Rep. McCarthy of the violence refused to help or call the people off.

Too many things for this to be random chance.

The insurrection didn't happen in Georgia. I'm sure there are many criminal counts he can be convicted of, connected with thinsurrection, under DC law or Federal law or both. GEorgia will get him on breaking election law.

But there's no reason someone in Georgia can't testify about that remark in a DC court or a Federal court, in person or by depositon or documents.

However with his actions in Georgia and then with his actions in precipitating the riot/attempted coup
in D.C. on 1/6/21 the DoJ MIGHT HAVE a conspiracy case against TFG if they want to pursue it.

If there is a Federal case. So far, it doesn't look like DOJ is terribly concerned about it. They're being chastised by judges for being excessively lenient to the insurrectionists.

That didn’t end very satisfactorily either.

But when I start getting depressed about yet another bad guy slithering away without any accountability, I remind myself that nothing lasts forever including lucky breaks, and they did finally get Al Capone.

that a jury would ever actually convict him? It is Georgia after all. It only takes is one trumper on the jury to blow the whole thing up and nullify the proceedings, at which time you know the pity party whining about the persecution by the Dems of poor little Donnie would go into overdrive - primarily led by you know who. Grudgingly giving the devil his due, he does seem to have a knack of turning something like this to his advantage. Gawd knows how and Gawd forbid.

(And I wouldn't for second put trying to tamper with jury past this hump. It's how he rolls.)

Sometime this Spring or early summer, Chump got his panties into a twist because Kemp refused to say the election had been stolen. Or maybe he said it, but he didn't sound angry enough.

Whatever the reason, Chump started sending out nastygrams about Kemp and Georgia. He can't send actual tweets or FB posts any more, so that's all he has left. It sounds like Chump is ready to toss the entire state out, whenever he starts his new Confederacy.

Maybe that's where this thing is coming from?

She just barely made the deadline to arraign 66 some murder suspects with charges.

She says it’s a backlog from the prior country prosecutor, but i would imagine her staff would be pretty upset when they’re working 60 hours per week and some group of prosecutors is not working on clearing the backlog.

I wouldn’t put a lot of faith into her teams contribution to any Trump charges.
