Where are the leaders in the Republican Party that will defend democracy?

They fall in behind McConnell and Trump in lockstep, oblivious that they have any responsibility to the oath they took to defend our Constitution.

They are like lemmings marching to the edge of the cliff with their eyes closed. Surely nothing bad will happen if they just remain silent?

Their job is to oppose "government" at all levels. No government is the best government, in their eyes. If anything bad happens, then the Democrats will fix it. If they don't fix it, we will blame them in the next election.

That is all that matters.

Republican leadership is an oxymoron.

3. There is one, and as they say it's the exception that proves the rule

Liz Cheney served on the leadership team of the House Republican caucus, now she is in the leadership of the House committee investigating January 6. She deserves to be counted. It's a steep cliff fall off after her. Among Republicans elected on a state wide basis you can maybe count two, or three at most, moderate Republican governors. Among Republican political operatives there are a few former high level strategists who held prominent roles in prior Republican presidential campaigns who have taken the side of Democracy. And you can locate a few former Republican cabinet members of which you can say the same. Damn slim pickings.

4. Never trust a Republican to do the right thing.

If they were really interested in doing the right thing in any given situation, they wouldn't be Republicans.

What good things do Republicans do for our people, our country, our planet, our democracy?

Yeah, I can't think of anything either.

They are out to destroy the idea of a working class paradise & are headed down the road to remake us as an enclave of the rich, with the rich held to zero consequences for their actions. EVerything good, like social security, medicare, medicaid, earned income tax credits, child tax credits, libraries, public schools, welfare, SCHIP, EMTALA will go away & only the rich will get served. Where poor women are not allowed any birth control and their children are virtual slaves of the barons in control, working for pennies, getting sick & dying due to no health care for poor working class. That is what they want, everything for themselves, nothing for us so they can be cruel to us as they want & no stopping them. Rape will become a white straight male right, and women will be nothing more than incubators. That is the world they truly want & are trying to implement. Democracy is just a ploy for them until they don;'t need to use it anymore.

That Party's central goal now is to get rid of American Democracy. You cannot be in that party and still believe we should have a Democracy.

They have created monsters to scare Americans and they were promised many nourishing things by TFG. Promises weren’t kept. The monsters are hangry and Republicans can’t feed them or control them.
