Arlington TX high school has an active shooter// update: appears under control, students exiting now

Being reported by CNN. Heavily armed officers arriving, several people reportedly shot, per MSNBC (on edit).
MSNBC reporting they’re still trying to locate the shooter. The school is on lockdown, students and teachers sheltering in rooms.

11:45 update: Parent on MSNBC saying a student and teacher have been shot.
Building has now been “cleared,” students being reunified with parents. No answer re: physical status of shooter.
11:47 mayor and police confirming at least 2 people hurt.
Timberview is large 75 acre campus high school, approx. 1900 students
12:14 students are exiting now to lineup of buses

12:24 police briefing (my final update): 18 year old student suspect got in a fight, drew a gun, several people injured, 2 had gunshot wounds. 3 injured were students, one “older person,” possibly a teacher. Suspect escaped, on the run.
No continued threat to students in building. Only one shooter.

Active Shooter at Timberview High in Arlington, Multiple People Shot

Multiple people are wounded after a shooting at Timberview High School in Arlington, police confirm.

The Mansfield ISD has confirmed in a letter to parents that police are investigating an active shooter situation at the high school.

The letter goes on to add that students and staff are currently locked in their classrooms/offices and no visitors are being permitted at this time.

NBC 5 crews have seen officers with long guns running from the parking lot and into the school.

The school is currently on lockdown.

Timberview High School is a part of the Mansfield Independent School District.
